Brainstorm ideas, explore different genres, and consider what interests and excites you as a writer. Your idea will serve as the foundation for your story.
The heart of your story. Consider their personalities, motivations, and backstories. Give them strengths and weaknesses, and let them grow and change throughout the story.
Bring your characters to life. Reflect the unique voices of each character with purposeful and engaging dialogues. Show, through dialogue, how characters interact and how conflicts arise and resolve.
Resolve the major conflicts or questions raised throughout the story by writing a satisfying and impactful climax.

Meet the Team
Program Faculty Kanchana Banerjee is a fiction writer based out of Gurgaon, Haryana. She has written four books, all that have been published by Harper Collins & Om Books INternational. Her titles include Until I Find You (2023), Eye on You (2021), Nobody’s Child (2019), A Forgotten Affair (2016).
An established author, she has completed writing courses with the London School of Journalism & Curtis Brown Creatives (London). She also has conducted several writing workshops for aspiring authors. Recently, as a mentor associated with Scholastic India, she mentored a group of students to write short stories.
Before turning into a full-time author, Kanchana was a freelance corporate writer for more than 18 years and her articles have been published in almost all the leading publications in the country.
She has also worked as a brand promotional writer for companies and publications. Some of her clients included Unilever, Asian Paints, Colgate, Marriott Hotel, Radio Mirchi & many others.
She would like to address middle & senior grade students and talk to them about the creative process; how to think of story ideas, how to start writing, how to create memorable characters & etc. She can talk about the publishing process, how publishing houses process the manuscript and what the book journey entails.
She is invited to numerous literary festivals across the country & mentors many young authors.
Support Facilitator Anjana is a certified career counsellor from UCLA, a Career Changemaker Awardee, a youth trainer and coach at heart with over 28 plus years of professional experience of working with children and youth in India, Singapore and Bangladesh.
For Anjana, Career guidance for students is about helping students be ready for the excitement and challenges that come with the culture of the new city/country/people, it is about empowering them to find the answers to questions on what career path, course, college and country, it is about helping them find “their Harvards”, it is also about equipping them with the skills in reflection, self-awareness, critical thinking, problem solving, communication, compassion along the way.
